911: All From the Same Dust

These paintings are really a 'quad-tych', like the triptychs or three-part altar panels of medieval Europe. The four scenes break my response to the terrrorist attacks on the World Trade Towers into four phases of one 'day'. They represent a process moving from shock, pain and grief into the beginning stages of comprehension and healing. These images forced their way out of me before I was able to return, in mid-December, to my interrupted artistic concerns.
